More about Angelus:

Angelus was founded in Le Locle by two brothers named Stolz in 1891. They started producing wristwatches at the beginning of the 20th Century and rapidly concentrated their effort on watches with ingenious movements. The company rapidly found success and grew a reputation as demand for their complicated wristwatches expanded. The company had an illustrious run until like many others,  it folded during the Quartz crisis. It has now been resurrected producing high end tourbillons.

One of Switzerland's sadly-defunct watch manufactures, Angelus chronographs are still highly sought after by collectors. Unlike the more commonly-known Valjoux, now owned by ETA, Angelus does not have as widespread name recognition. However, the Angelus 215, a workhorse made entirely in-house, produced in the 1940s and 1950s, was used by Panerai for the prototype for the Mare Nostrum, and many Angelus models (such as the Chronodata) influenced the design of chronographs in the following decades.

With its 37mm case, this Angelus chronograph is larger than most chronographs of the period. This would make it a fitting addition to a modern collection of similar-sized watches.
